    What is Social Bookmarking?

    Social Bookmarking:  What is it?

Social bookmarking is a marketing method of bookmarking, or saving interesting websites, articles, videos, anything that you want to take note of.  And, you save them to a public Internet bookmarking site.

By saving your bookmarks to a public Internet bookmarking site, and tagging them with keywords, and maybe a description, you are organizing them so that not only you can find them, but that others can find them.

How does Social Bookmarking help you?

When you organize your bookmarks in such a way that others can find them (tagging with keywords and descriptions), you are providing links that they can click on and that brings traffic to those sites.  Because some of your bookmarks will be your own personal content....you've got traffic!

Make sure you do not set your bookmarks to private at any of your bookmarking sites you use, unless they are truly private. Some sites are public by default and others will require that you check off a box in order to set the bookmark to "public".

What does Social Bookmarking have to do with Search Engine Optimization?

Your bookmarks are essentially "votes" for the bookmarked content.  The bookmarked links point to the content and let the search engines know that the content exists, and is noted by others...like a vote for its popularity.

The more bookmarks that your content receives, the more popular it is deemed by the search engines.  That doesn't mean that you can just go around and bookmark your own content everywhere you go.  You'll have to use good bookmarking practices in order to not be perceived by the search engines as a spammer.

Bookmarking content in an unnatural way can actually hurt your search engine rankings.  You'll want to learn how to bookmark content in a natural manner and not in any pattern.  For more information on how to use good bookmarking practices, take advantage of a short bookmarking coaching session on how to bookmark correctly for your Internet Marketing goals.

It's also important to understand a little bit about Do Follow and No Follow.  When bookmarking sites are listed as being "Do Follow", it means that your bookmarked links can be followed, or traced back to their original home.  This gives your links more visibility; more weight, and is considered to be a backlink to your content.

Try to choose Do Follow bookmarking sites in most cases.  Even though Delicious is not considered Do Follow, it is hugely popular and that counts for something.  In order to discover what sites use Do Follow links, consider downloading an SEO addon for FireFox called SearchStatus that lets you see which links are No Follow (then you know which links are Do Follow).

How to use Social Bookmarking sites?

Most bookmarking sites include a bookmarking toolbar that you can download to make bookmarking to their site a simple procedure.  In this video, I demonstrate how easy it is to add a bookmark to a very popular bookmarking site: Delicious.  It also happens to be my favorite, for ease of use.

This search engine optimization tutorial highlights how simple it is to bookmark content to increase your search engine rankings and bring traffic to your links.  Remember, social bookmarking makes your links more visible and accessible to others, therefore creating "votes" for popularity and bringing attention and traffic.

As an Internet Network Marketing coach with Coaching Cognition, Becky presents Internet Marketing techniques in a non-technical manner to the technically-challenged. Video Training on How to Create Content....Lots of it!

There’s a simple formula for getting leads for your Internet Marketing business:

Lots of Content = Traffic = Leads

If you have a lot of content out there, you will obviously get more leads than someone who has few pieces of content.

All Internet Network Marketers have one thing in common:

Their content provides a massive amount of value. In fact, nothing goes out that does not provide value. Why would it if it didn’t serve our target market?

One of the things that keep people from creating content is “not knowing what to write about, or what to create”.

They think they have NOTHING to share!

This one thought holds many people back from creating content that brings traffic and leads.

With that in mind, Ann Sieg and Mike Klingler have created a video to share with you, free, that solves the problem of not knowing what to write about, and doing nothing.

    http://GetResults.attractionmarketingmanifesto.com/contentfactory/

In the video Mike Klingler shares the formula that has been proven to make sure you never worry about what to write about again.

Both Ann and Mike use this formula to create an unlimited amount of content, and have built multi-million dollar businesses by covering the Internet with value-driven content.

This free Social Marketing training video provides at least 3 proven examples of how to create content (articles, emails, videos, or a blog) that creates leads on any subject; in any industry.

Everything you read on Internet Network Marketing training talks about traffic, but you have to have the content to get the traffic.

The process shown is quite simple. You’ll appreciate that!

On another subject; Renegade Professional will be re-opening Monday, June 22.

It’s been closed since April, but when it re-opens, it will stay open for good. Feel free to contact me with any questions concerning the re-opening of Renegade Professional.

The New FaceBook: What to Know

Last week, FaceBook actually went ahead and did what they've been threatening to do all along: change the structure.  We were warned.  For awhile, FaceBook users had a chance to try out the new FaceBook and switch back to the old FaceBook and use whatever look they preferred.  I was one who preferred the old look.

Now the changes are permenant, despite the FaceBook groups forming against it ,or whatever we might want.  There's been some housekeeping.  Yes, I admit the look is cleaner and more professional. It was quite sloppy before, especially if you were prone to use a lot of applications.  It was like a decorating party gone wild.  You could tell a lot about a person by how they put together their profile page.

Now, we are all being forced to have a nice, organized profile page.  I do agree the changes are good; just hard to get used to at first.  Change is always hard for some of us.!

Just to go over the main restructure:  the white margins have been removed from the sides to create a web page look.  This change creates a more open appearance instead of everything being crammed down the middle of the page.  For some, it was a never-ending page.

There are now tabs created at the top that contain different aspects of the profile: the Wall, Info, Photos, Boxes (applications).  You'll have to click on the tabs to view certain information.  Before, it was all there if you scrolled down far enough; again, more organized.

You can now post a short bio about yourself under your photo on the left.  You can also message your friend much easier now that the "send a message" button is right underneath the photo on the left.

The Wall is front and center as you begin to view the profile.  It contains a mixture of the original Wall entries mixed with the mini-feed.  It's an interesting mixture.  Your home page is more user-friendly and organized into sections.  Before, I wasn't sure where to find certain functions.

I guess the main change I object to the most is that you'll have to open the Info tab to see business information about your friend and  check out their links and personal information.  Since I use FaceBook for networking, and for my Internet Network Marketing business, I would have preferred that information to be more accessible.  Now, you'll have to enter under the Info tab.  It's just another step to take.

Change is hard, but is usually for the good.  Even though I've already posted a few  comments about my concern over the changes, I am already embracing the new look.  For me, most things take time to sink in.  Be sure to leave me your views as well.  We all have a different and unique view.  Just remember, "new FaceBook is now the only FaceBook".
