When Cold-Calling Freezes You In Your Tracks
Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at 06:08PM As a Network Marketer, when I'm looking over training materials and listening to conference calls about old methods of "sharing" (a.k.a. cold-calling), I'm often reminded of how it came to be that I just stopped "sharing" and refused to do it any more. Those of you that don't have to cold-call anymore, know what I mean.
It's not that I don't believe in my Network Marketing business or my product, it's just that it wasn't worth my dignity, time and energy to continue to set the trap, so to speak, in order to capture new Network Marketing business prospects. It's also not because I wasn't good at cold-calling...I was told that my 10% average was pretty darn good! It was the other 90% failure rate that pulled me down.
Pretty soon, the idea of going to another social function, or mall, or business just for the sake of snaring prospects just gave me a negative feeling. I dreaded any attempts to build my Network Marketing business. It does not help that while attempting to share your Network Marketing business with others, people can get the wrong impression of you;...attracting others with your "Law of Attraction" personality is not always what people assume you are up to! I thought, "there's got to be an easier way to attract Network Marketing prospects without running the risk of sending the wrong message, or feeling rejected, or having to stand up in a crowd and give a sales pitch. I decided that If I had to continue to do this in order to be successful, I was not going to make it".
It was after that, that I just decided my Network Marketing business leads would have to come to me because I wasn't going after it that way anymore. I had the right idea, but didn't know how to go about it. I started searching the Internet for something better than what I was doing and found...The Renegade Network Marketer eBook. It spoke to me. And, it was then that I understood how Network Marketing could be done a better way. It was the first time I had been excited about my Network Marketing business in a long time. So, if you've gone thru what I've gone thru and are sick and tired of your upline saying you're not trying hard enough or you're sending out defeatist, negative vibes, or you haven't played the numbers game, then maybe you'll want to play a different game. Even if you haven't experienced what I have, along with many other Network Marketers, does recruiting strangers sound like fun? I just want to spare you from quitting or failing when you really believe in what you're doing; when deep down inside you know that something's not working for you, and it's not the way you want to build your Network Marketing business.
Move to a warmer climate! It's hot here, because Internet Network Marketing methods are very controversial with old-school Network Marketers who would like you to continue to cold-call.
